PERFECT CHICKEN BREAST Jun 11 Written By Summer Ahmed PrintTHE PERFECT CHICKEN BREASTYield 2Prep time5 MinCook time15 MinTotal time20 MinIngredients1 lb chicken breasts1 tsp tumeric1 tsp paprika1 tsp oregano1 tsp garlic powder1 tsp black pepper1 tsp chili powdersalt to taste4 tbsp butterInstructionsPlace the chicken breasts on a cutting board and cover them loosely with plastic wrap. Using a rolling pin or the flat side of a meat mallet, gently pound the thicker ends of the breasts until they are an even thickness throughout—this ensures even cooking.Unwrap the chicken and season both sides generously with salt. Then, sprinkle over the turmeric, paprika, garlic powder, oregano, black pepper, and chili powder. Pat the seasonings into the surface of the meat so they adhere well.Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat until it’s hot but not smoking. Add a drizzle of oil to coat the bottom of the pan.Carefully lay each piece of chicken breast into the pan, placing them away from you. Let the chicken sear undisturbed for a few minutes, until a golden crust begins to develop on the bottom side.Flip the chicken breasts once they release easily from the pan and have developed color. Use tongs to gently stand each breast on its sides for a moment to develop a crust around the edges as well.Once all sides have developed color, reduce the heat slightly. Add the butter directly to the pan, followed by a second round of the same spices used earlier: a pinch of turmeric, paprika, garlic powder, oregano, black pepper, and chili powder.Tilt the pan to pool the butter and begin basting the chicken with the spiced butter over the top continuously for a minute or two. This helps build flavor and moisture.Cook the chicken until it reaches an internal temperature of about 160°F. Remove from the pan and set on a plate to rest for a few minutes.Once rested, slice the chicken into half-inch thick slices, and serve however you like.Did you make this recipe?Tag @thegoldenbalance on instagram and hashtag it #thegoldenbalance chickeneasy Summer Ahmed
